The following configuration is for testing a point-to-point connection.
The IP address must differ in the last octet.
Default setting of the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt in the delivery state
Configuring the network card
The console is opened via Start, Run, and entering CMD.
Open console
The command syntax consists of: PING space IP address e.g. ==> ping 10.11.1.77
The service must be activated and supported by the network.
The firewall must allow the command; if necessary, it must be disabled during use.
Ping can be used to test whether the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt is correctly connected to the network.
This requires knowledge of the IP or host name of the device.
If the host name is known, a PING can also be sent to it.
The command syntax consists of: PING space host name, e.g., ==> ping jumogeraet

The standard patch cable is used to connect the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt to a network socket in order to establish a connection to a hub, switch router, etc.
Patch cables can be identified by the two plug ends with untwisted wires.
The crossover cable is used for the direct PC connection to the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt.
The distinguishing features of a crossover cable are the two plug ends with twisted wires.
A non-crossed patch cable can be used with the aid of an adapter.
a) There is no DHCP server on the network.
Disable the DHCP function on the recorder.
The administrator assigns a fixed IP address to the device. Advantage: The IP can be “piped.”
It can be used directly in JUMO applications.
b) The router functions as a DHCP server.
Enable the DHCP function on the recorder.
Since the recorder normally operates with a fixed IP address, it can no longer be accessed. In many cases, the IP address also changes when the power is turned off and on again.
For this reason, DHCP should only be used in conjunction with DNS. The device is assigned a HOST name. The DNS server maintains the assignments of the HOST names to the IP addresses.
The JUMO application programs can work with the HOST name.
